Mental Health Awareness Month

What’s Up!

Before we dive into mental health I want you all to understand that you are important, loved, valued, and admired by someone in this world. So let’s begin by the definition of mental health which is a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being.  Have you ever wondered why having a support group is good for you? If not, I hope to change your idea then!

I feel that you should be able to communicate with others about the way you’re feeling and when things in life are bothering you. For me, I have two groups of people I go to. The first group are my sisters and close cousins who I talk to whenever I’m unsure about a problem or when something is going on. Having a group of people who you trust is awesome because you value what they are saying. My second group is my mentor and friends who are similar to my family where they care for me just the same. Having positive people in your life is important because they uplift your spirits and make you feel welcomed.

So below I have listed a few ways that may help improve your mental health:

1) Value and love yourself.

2)  Surround yourself with positive people with similar goals.

3)  Do something you enjoy. I enjoy watching Movies and eating ice cream!

4) Set realistic goals to achieve.

5) LISTEN to your loved ones.

6) Focus on what’s important to you.

7) Recognize the problem and try to fix it or seek help.

8) Avoid excessive drama or problems.

9)  Become comfortable with yourself through meditating, having “me time”, or journaling your emotions.

10) Be you, enjoy the amazing person you were born to be and make yourself happy!!

Doing at least one of these 10 ideas can help improve your mental health and here is a list of resources that you can contact if you ever need them:
