Today is National HIV Testing Day!
We want to encourage everyone to get tested and treated for HIV. More than 90% of new HIV infections in the United States could be prevented by getting tested and by making sure that those who are living with HIV are receiving early, ongoing treatment (CDC).
CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of their routine health care.
You can find a testing location near you by going to https://locator.aids.gov/
Below are some stories from Positive Spin, where they share their unique stories about their experiences getting tested, getting into care, staying in care and how they living with HIV.
In honor of National HIV Testing Day, SacPOP is hosting an Open Mic Night so that we can also bring more awareness about HIV.
