About the Campaign
Sacramento Peers on Prevention (SacPOP) created a campaign titled, “Change Starts with Us.” This campaign allows Peer Educators to address ways to improve sex education. In order to end stigma and shame, we must make changes to sex education which include addressing racial disparities, including youth when developing sex education curriculum and requiring sex education to be taught every year in high school.
SACPOP: Change Starts with Us
Addressing Miscarriage in Sex Ed
In health class, we are taught that unprotected sex can lead to having a baby but that may not be the case for many people and the possibility of miscarriage is not talked about. Miscarriage is a reality and in order to destigmatize miscarriage, we must talk about it in order to provide people with the support they need.
Join us in advocating for more information about miscarriage such as the signs, what to expect and how to seek support.

Reproductive Justice Bingo
How many times have you heard “when are you going to have kids” and can’t help but roll your eyes? Well our Peer Educators played bingo to see how many ways people are asked about having children.
Reproductive justice is about having rights to your own body which include the right to have children, the right to not to have children and if you have children, you have the right to raise them in safe environments.
When teaching sexual health, young people should not be shamed and those who choose not to have children should also be supported by having access to birth control, Plan B, abortion and tubal ligation if a person chooses.
